I am wondering if anyone would know of a company that really does finance travel trailers for people with bad credit. We have never had any late payments on our car or our house though. Just a few collections and a false judgement.

Home for Sale in Kauai - Alfa Estate Sale

A slideshow of my house for sale in Kaua?i; I lived there for a year in the hopes of starting a farm and education center, but my small business failed, I was diagnosed with cancer, and my investments took a dive, all within my first six months. :(

I bought the house with my retirement savings ? for about $100,000 more than its current list price ? and it looks like my down payment is down the toilet, but it could be worse ? I could be one of Bernie Madhoff?s clients! At least I am young and have time to recover from the loss. That AND I had some awesome doctors in Kaua?i who saved my life. :)

Here is my Realtor?s listing for the home: http://www.kymryperez.com/address.php?property_ID=20
It is currently the cheapest 3-bedroom (it is technically a 4-bedroom) with acreage on the South Side of Kaua?i, which (I think) is the side with the best beaches and the best weather.

Estonians commemorate independence to the tune of a 25,000-strong chorus

Estonia's Singing Festival, which happens every five years, has become a symbol of the country's triumph over domination, oppression, and hardship.

Tallinn, Estonia

? A local, slice-of-life story from a Monitor correspondent.

Imagine nearly 25,000 young people raising their voices in a gigantic choir, cheered by 100,000 spectators.

This happened in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, a former Soviet republic on the Baltic Sea, in July. The Singing Festival, performed every five years for the past 150 years, has come to mean victory over domination, oppression, and economic hardship. Begun in 1869, the festival is Estonia?s national statement, the symbol of the heart of a country that, against all odds, made it into the eurozone this year.

In 1989, as Russia itself was focusing on opening and restructuring under Mikhail Gorbachev, 35,000 Estonians rebelliously sang Gustav Ernesak?s forbidden ?Land of my Fathers, Land that I Love.? By Aug. 20, 1991, Estonia had regained its independence from the Soviet Union. This year marks its 20th anniversary.

Singing ?shows what human beings are capable of enduring and achieving under the most difficult obstacles,? says Estonian-American filmmaker Jim Tusty. Mr. Tusty coproduced ?The Singing Revolution? (2006) to document Estonia?s nonviolent path to freedom from Soviet occupation.

?We need [the song festival] to keep our roots alive,? adds conductor Aarne Saluveer, president of the Estonian Choral Society. ?In the 1990s, some people said, ?Why do we [keep] the singing festivals? We?re free!? ? says Mr. Saluveer. ?But [if] you think that singing is [only for working] against something, you live in fear. Singing is about telling important stories. It is about celebrating that we are free.?

Dreamforce 2011 Under Way in Post-PC Era (NewsFactor)

Enterprise cloud-computing company Salesforce.com is kicking off its Dreamforce 2011 event with a keynote address from Chairman and CEO Mark Benioff. Benioff's keynote will outline the company's vision for the social enterprise.

An annual event, this year's Dreamforce is being held at Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. Salesforce.com expects more than 40,000 people to register and attend some of the 475 sessions featuring more than 700 experts.

Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt is also on deck for the event. Going along with its "social" theme, Metallica will perform at the Dreamforce 2011 Global Gala, followed by an after-party with will.i.am.

The Post-PC Era

This year's Dreamforce will focus on the post-PC revolution. As Salesforce sees it, the post-PC revolution will further accelerate the social enterprise.

There clearly is a rise in companies working to improve the way they collaborate, communicate and share information with customers and employees in the cloud. That rise, Salesforce said, is transforming companies into social enterprises, which it defined as those that build social profiles of customers, create internal social networks, and listen to and engage with customers over the Internet.

"If anyone is positioned to talk about the cloud and the end of the PC era and what is essentially granting access to all your data no matter what device you are working with, Salesforce is," said Charles King, principal analyst at Pund-IT.

"Salesforce has the experience. They've worked through the bugs. They have succeeded well beyond what many people have either intimated or assumed. As this era of cloud computing continues to grow, I expect them to profit from it."

Social Enterprise in Action

Vala Afshar, chief customer officer at Enterasys Networks, said transforming into a social enterprise has fueled his company's growth, allowing it to operate with agility and deliver the level of engagement that its customers expect.

"We've partnered with Salesforce.com to leverage the cloud, developing customer and product social networks that have redefined the customer experience and our product development process," said Afshar, noting that his company plans to share best practices and hear from experts on how the cloud can continue to change the way the firm operates and deliver business value.

Partners Speak

The Cloud Expo features nearly 300 exhibitors and partners that make up the cloud-computing ecosystem, including Diamond sponsor Accenture and Titanium sponsors Bluewolf, Deloitte, Eloqua and Marketo. Platinum sponsors at Dreamforce include Astadia, BMC Software, Dell, HubSpot, Model Metrics, Pardot, Silverpop, and Wipro Technologies.

Kevin Campbell, group chief executive of technology at Accenture, said the company's participation at Dreamforce is just one component of its commitment to further strengthen its alliance with Salesforce.com and sharpen its focus on delivering innovative uses of cloud computing that drive business value for the enterprise.

"With the largest team of Salesforce.com-trained and certified professionals of any global integrator," Campbell said, "Accenture has worked hand-in-hand with Salesforce.com for more than six years, delivering agile, enterprise-scale, cloud-computing solutions to help our joint clients make the shift to become a social enterprise."

Brown-Forman posts higher 1Q profit (AP)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ? Liquor maker Brown-Forman Corp. mixed a new Jack Daniel's honey-flavored whiskey with strong sales overseas to come up with a 6 percent increase in its first-quarter profit.

Company executives also said Wednesday they see improvement in liquor consumption at U.S. bars and restaurants. Out-on-the-town drinking, a key segment for spirits companies, has been staggered in recent years by the struggling economy.

"It's not roaring back, but it's better for sure, in my view, than it was a couple of years ago," CEO Paul Varga said.

Louisville-based Brown-Forman reaffirmed its full-year earnings projection and said it expects to benefit from brand development and wider distribution to help fuel improved net sales growth.

The company's flagship Jack Daniel's lineup was its top performer in the quarter, posting a 15 percent revenue gain, on a constant currency basis, in the three-month period ending July 31.

Sales for its core Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey grew by 16 percent across international markets and 2 percent in the U.S. Jack Daniels' ready-to-drink products also posted revenue gains.

But company officials credited the new Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey for much of the U.S. growth in the brand's overall lineup. The honey-flavored product started reaching store shelves in March, and the company calls it one of its most successful product launches.

"Thus far, it has been exciting for the Jack Daniel's trademark and for the U.S. business," Brown-Forman Chief Financial Officer Don Berg said in a conference call with industry analysts.

The new offering is part of an industrywide trend toward infusing new flavors into spirits to attract customers.

Overall, Brown-Forman's brands had a mixed performance in the quarter.

The company reported higher volumes for its Chambord vodka, Herradura, Sonoma-Cutrer and Woodford Reserve brands.

Overall Finlandia vodka revenue was flat for the period on the same constant currency basis, while several other brands had declines.

Southern Comfort continued to struggle with an 11 percent drop in revenue for the overall brand. The company also reported revenue declines for its el Jimador, Canadian Mist and Korbel Champagne brands.

The company said it got a lift from a weaker U.S. dollar in its increasingly important international markets.

About 55 percent of the company's overall sales come in markets outside the U.S. Brown-Forman reported first-quarter gains in Germany, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Russia and Brazil, which more than offset declines in Poland, Spain and Australia.

"In this quarter, we continued to enjoy widespread international growth," Varga said. "We also saw an important acceleration of our U.S. business, driven by the continued growth of the Jack Daniel's trademark and super-premium brands."

Meanwhile, company officials were more upbeat about a rebound in "on premise" consumption of spirits in the U.S.

Berg said economic uncertainties remain a concern as the spirits industry hopes to continue that trend as it heads toward its crucial holiday period at the end of the year.

For the three months ended July 31, the company reported net income of $118.1 million, or 81 cents per share, up from $111.4 million, or 76 cents per share, a year ago.

Net sales rose 13 percent to $840.3 million from $744.9 million a year ago.

Analysts expected earnings of 83 cents per share on revenue of $767.2 million.

Its Class B shares fell $1.73, or 2.4 percent, to close at $71.75 Wednesday.

For the full year, Brown-Forman expects to earn $3.45 to $3.85 per share. Analysts on average expect $3.70 a share for the year.

The company recently introduced new packaging for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey and Finlandia, following up on packaging remakes for Southern Comfort, Herradura and Chambord. Varga said the investments in packaging and advertising will pay dividends.

"We believe that product, packaging and marketing innovation will continue to be important contributors to sustainable sales and profit growth in our industry," Varga said.
