BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: These positions are located in Bowling Facilities within Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department. The incumbent performs one or a combination of the following: Performs call service assistance (i.e. dead pin in gutter, score corrections, spills, ball underground) for customers utilizing the Bowling Center. Responsible for inspecting house bowling balls, equipment, furniture and fixtures for usability of items. Reports any damage or defects to supervisor. Performs necessary housekeeping tasks in the concourse, spectator and approach areas by sweeping, dusting, and cleaning equipment, furniture, floors, etc. Greets patrons upon arrival and answers telephones. Advises patrons of services and activities and answers inquires. Responds to customer complaints, referring unresolved issues to the Bowling Manager or Duty Manager. Maintains waiting list for bowling lanes and billiard tables. Operates a cash register according to established cash handling procedures. Competes daily activity reports (DAR) and ensures proper deposit of cash received. Assigns lockers by having patron complete locker rental form, receives fee and logs in locker rental assignment sheet. Using computerized data system, prints monthly report of overdue locker rentals and issues patrons handwritten overdue locker rental fee notices. Issues shoes according to size needed. Accepts return of shoes, sprays shoes with disinfectant and returns to proper storage. Replaces shoelaces, as needed. Ensures that leagues start bowling at scheduled times. Monitors patrons to determine misuse of lanes, equipment or violation of rules and notifies management. Notifies mechanic or management of scorer or pinsetter problems. Notifies custodial person or management of litter or spills which require clean up. Using computerized data system compares daily print-out of sales against cash on hand at end of shift. Assists in monthly inventory of supplies and equipment. Performs necessary housekeeping tasks in assigned spaces to ensure proper standards of appearance, safety and cleanliness. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Recreation Aid (Pin Chaser), NF-01
? Practical knowledge of bowling center activities
? Skill in the use of automatic scoring and bowling equipment preferred
? Ability to work effectively with others
? Ability to perform routine housekeeping tasks
? Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
? Ability to communicate effectively with others
? Must meet federal suitability requirements including successful completion of background investigation. Background investigations are conducted using fingerprint identification and completion of background inquiry forms.
Recreation Aid/Assistant (Front Desk/Cashier), NF-01/02, All the requirements of the NF-01 level and:
? Six months related experience in a bowling operation preferred.
? Cash handling required.
? Basic knowledge of the game of bowling.
? Ability to work tactfully and courtesy with others.
