One of the many pizza chains in Riyadh, Z pizza tries to make a difference by offering ?organic, fresh produce and additive-free, select ingredients?. Z Pizza was established in the art community of Laguna Beach, California to cater to a more health conscious audience.

The restaurant in fact offers not only pizzas but has a good selection of salads, pastas, sandwiches and other side orders as well. Their pizza dough is made from organic whole wheat and customers can choose from white or brown crust. Their own tomato sauce is organic and the Mozzarella cheese is low fat. Even the toppings have been selected from the healthiest choices like the MSG-free pepperoni and or the additive- free sausages. Who thought pizza could ever be this healthy?

The selection of salads includes interesting ingredient combinations, not just your ordinary Caesar salad, although this is available too. The Arugula Salad was probably one of the best salads I?ve had in Riyadh for a long time. The delicious combination of crisp arugula, walnuts, caramelized onions and shaved parmesan was fantastic and even the small sized portion was actually quite generous. The best thing was that the dressing was offered on the side and thus didn?t make the salad too watery.

As a fan of tuna pizza I was a bit disappointed Z pizza does not have any fish options on the list, but they do have a good choice of vegetarian, chicken and meat options available. The Mexican pizza sounded tempting with toppings such as home made salsa sauce, spicy lime chicken, green onions, fresh avocado, sour cream and cilantro.

The fire baked pizzas have a crunchy crust and the brown crust we chose was nice and crispy but not too dry. The low fat cheese makes the pizzas less heavy on the stomach. For greasy pizza lovers, this is not your place! The toppings were generous and the pizza had lots of flavor to it.

The pastas do not disappoint either. The meatball spaghetti is tasty with a bit of a spicy twist to it. The accompanying garlic bread is soft and moist, not like the competitors chewy and dry versions.

From the side orders the pepperoni garlic bread is a must order, simply mouth watering and the proportion size would be enough for a whole meal.

Z Pizza prices are slightly higher than the similar pizza chains but it?s definitely worth paying the extra penny for organic, fresh and relatively healthy fast food that tickles your taste buds!
