You may have heard me say this: ??In Internet Marketing, all you need is something to sell and someone to sell to.?
In other words, you need products and traffic.
Today, let?s talk about products.
I?m in the process of doing some very intense research into traffic- check back and watch your email inbox- there?s a lot of fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) about buying traffic. ?I decided to get to the bottom of it. ?I?ll report back when I?ve got the results.
Let?s do a quick review, and then I want to talk to you about PLR products. ?There are basically five ways to acquire a product to sell.
1. ?Make it yourself. ?This is where most people start. ?In fact, this is what brings most people into the Internet Marketing world. ?They have a passion for something and want to share it with the world.
This is cool. ?However, the most common newbie mistake is to try to turn that passion into a business without researching whether or not anybody is actually interested and, more importantly, whether or not they?re willing to exchange money for products about that topic.
Let?s assume you?ve done your research and discovered that topic is in a niche that a LOT of people are interested in and these people will buy products.
The key here is to find a niche where there are problems to be solved. ?You know that people have a problem and are looking for a solution. ?You also know how to communicate with these people so you can tell them about YOUR solution to that problem.
From there, it?s a short step to big bucks: ?package the solution and sell it.
You can deliver the solution as an eBook, audio, video, software?
Make it with someone else: ?We call these projects ?joint ventures,? or JVs. ?Here?s an example: ?You have identified an interesting problem and your research has shown you that people will pay for the solution. ?However, you?re not an expert on the topic. ?You do have the ability to package the solution, put up a sales page, write the sales copy, and drive traffic to the sales page.
So, you find an expert and interview them. ?Ask questions. ?Get the answers.
Then, all you have to do is package the solution, get it online, sell it, and split the money with your JV partner.
This is an easy way to break into new niches. ?You could use a conference call service- there are some free ones- call your expert on the phone, record the call, and put the recording online and sell it. ?I like it- fast and easy.
Sell somebody else?s product- This is called ?affiliate marketing.? ?The easiest example of this is Clickbank.com- you register as an affiliate. ?Once you?re approved (easy) you have the opportunity to sell any of thousands of products in multiple niches. ?Affiliates typically make 50% ? 75% commission on each sale. ?If you?ve got a list or a dependable source of traffic, this is easy money.
Public Domain- This one seems to confuse people at first. ?It sounds too good to be true, but it is. ?Here?s the part most people have trouble with: ?if something is in the public domain, it belongs to you. ?It also belongs to everybody else, but the important thing to remember is that it belongs to you. ?You can sell it and keep all the money.
Here?s an example: ?there are tens of thousands of magazine articles in the public domain. ?You can gather up a couple of dozen that are on a related topic, package them as a book or eBook, sell it- and keep all the money.
Here?s another: ?You can take one of the millions of books that are in the public domain, change the cover, change the title, and- if you want- list yourself as the author. ?Once you?ve determined that something is actually in the public domain, there are no rules.
I?ve made a lot of money with Public Domain products and highly recommend that you use them.
However, the product acquisition method I want to focus on today is the 5th method (in my arbitrary list)- PLR Products.
PLR stands for Private Label rights.
And, like the Public Domain option, it?s confusing to newbies because it sounds too good to be true.
Pay close attention here, because if you?re not already using PLR products to make money, you are missing out.
Here?s the short-course on PLR. ?For a price, usually a surprisingly small price, you can purchase a product that you can then resell. ?In most cases, the products come with a sales page, graphics, web page and download page in addition to the product. ?If you know where to find them, you can get good ones for $5.
Now, stay with me, because this is going to be hard to believe. ?You get all of that for just a few bucks. ?You may want to do some editing, tighten up the sales page, etc.- but, you don?t have to.
Then, you can put all this online- cut and paste it, basically- sell it, and keep all the money!
?PLR? is a short-hand umbrella term for a variety of groups of products- the difference is in the license that comes with each product. ?Let?s look at some of the licenses.
While licenses differ with each author and seller, the basic premise is that the license permits buyers to re-brand the content under their own name and brand. In general practice this means that the product can be modified, sold, resold or repurposed in many different formats. In some cases authorship on the original product is allowed and with unrestricted private label, buyers are often able to resell the same rights they?ve acquired.
Normal resell rights mean that after you buy the item you will be allowed to sell it to your customers. There may be limitations, such as that you can only sell the product for a specific price. This term is also known as Resale Rights. When a product comes with resell rights it means that you can sell the product to just about anyone and keep 100% of the profit. The product you sell though should only include the PUO (Personal Use Only) right, in other words, you can NOT give the resell rights when you sell this type of product. When you acquire master resell rights, you sell the product/service to your customers, and you may also grant your customers the right to sell it. You can also pass master resell rights to your customers, if you are in possession of transferable master resell rights. This allows your customers to also sell the product with master resell rights.
Before you buy a PLR package, check out the license. ?I just went to one of my sources and copied a typical license.

There are a LOT of fun ways you can use PLR products to increase your income.
- Just cut and paste ?em online and sell ?em.
- Use them to get people to opt-in to your list.
- Use them as bonuses when you sell another product
- Put them in a membership site and get paid by the month for them
- Give them away as rewards to loyal customers
What other creative ways to use PLR products can you think of?
Bottom Line: ?PLR products are an amazing opportunity for you. ?Don?t let the fact that it looks to good to be true or too easy slow you down. ?This is how the ?big boys? do it- in fact, some of them would prefer that I didn?t teach this. ?But, it?s important information and I want you to have it so you can be successful, too.
Thanks- if you?ve got questions or want to talk about it, leave a comment.
