What's the lamest automotive genre?

Mike Spinelli ?What's the lamest automotive genre?Automotive genres are as changeable as the generations of humans who buy cars. Every time some focus group identifies a new niche, out come the slide rules. Sometimes, this fails miserably.

As much as we love the plucky, ugly-duckling Isuzu Vehicross, our vote goes to the "PUV." That's the "performance utility vehicle" genre Isuzu bet the farm on back in the late 1990s. The Vehicross was supposed to attract those young, fun-loving, iconoclastic Lollapalooza types that weren't having any of that lame mainstream automotive stuff. Until they got a good look at the Vehicross and went straight to the BMW dealership and bought used. Or just kept their K-cars running for another decade.

What's the lamest automotive genre of all time?
